-52 week Domestic Violence Defendants/Offenders Intervention Program: Probation Approved / 52 semanas Clase de Violencia Doméstica para acusados
Domestic violence batterer’s intervention is approved by the California Department of Probation. This class is for male and female perpetrators of domestic violence. No waiting list; we have open enrollment.
-Psychological Evaluation for Immigration
We offer psychological evaluation for immigration cases and immigration court. These evaluations can be for asylum, visa, or hardship cases. A psychological evaluation can be helpful to address the impact deportation would have and to report on mental health. Evaluations are provided in English and Spanish.
-Individual Therapy/ Consejería Individual
Our Therapists come from all sorts of backgrounds; they specialize in trauma focused interventions while working with our clients on safety and understanding topics related to domestic violence, child abuse, sexual assault, and other violent crimes. Therapy sessions are available in English and Spanish, Monday-Saturdays, afternoons and evenings. In-home services are available. Please ask us for more information.
Children's Individual Therapy/ Terapia individual para menores
Therapy sessions are available for children aged 4-18. Therapists work with kids who have been exposed to domestic violence, sexual assault, child abuse, and other crime-related traumatic events. Therapists help children with coping skills, self-regulation, behavioral modification, self-esteem, safety, social skills, strengthening verbalization skills, and communication. Our therapists use various types of interventions including: Trauma Focused CBT, art therapy, play therapy, music therapy, bibliotherapy, and client centered therapy. Therapy sessions are available in English and Spanish, Monday-Saturdays, afternoons and evenings.
-Couples Counseling/ Consejeria de pareja
Couples sessions allow for the couple to work on their relationships, communication within the family, and coping skills. These sessions allow the couple to work together to overcome the effects domestic violence or child abuse have had on the dynamics in the family. Our therapists work closely with the couple to maintain a safe and comfortable environment, in order to work through issues being discussed.
-Domestic Violence Awareness Groups (separate groups for women and men)/ Consejeria para victimas de abuso (grupos separados para mujeres y para hombres).
This program includes comprehensive group counseling and individual therapy sessions focusing on safety, red flags, triggers, diagnoses, self-esteem, empowerment, anger management, and life skills. Groups are 1.5-2 hours long and available in English and Spanish. Individual sessions are 45 minutes long.
-At Home Counseling/ Consejería en Casa
Currently we have bilingual (English/Spanish) therapists that will be doing therapy at home, this program is limited to Availability. Families who will be considered for this program are larger families with limited transportation and childcare. Individual and Conjoint Family therapy issues will be covered, therapy may deal with trauma, parenting skills, symptom relief, behavior modification, etc. Please contact us regarding program qualification.
-Parenting Class/ Clase de Padres
Parenting class focuses on educating parents about child abuse prevention. Parents work on communication skills, behavior modification, coping mechanisms, and setting limits and boundaries. The group educates parents on what are different types of abuse and neglect. Please ask our office about specific class fees.
-Sexual Abuse Awareness/ Clase de Concientización sobre el Asalto Sexual
This is a 2-hour class, it provides information and coping skills to parents whose children have already experienced sexual abuse. It focuses on psychoeducation, prevention, and parenting skills. The class is 26 weeks in length.
Anger Management/ Control de Ira
2 hours in length
The Anger Management program works with individuals in a group setting to improve communication skills, identify stress levels, and develop coping techniques and mechanisms.
-Co-Parenting Counseling for Divorced/Separated Parents/
Consejeria en Co-Paternidad para padres Divorciados/Separados
A 10- hour five-week class (Or all day on Friday) to support separated and divorcing/divorced parents/ family members in raising children between two homes, minimizing the impact of conflict on the children, exploring strategies for communicating effectively, and keeping the focus on the children and their safety.
-Parenting Class for Blended Families/ Clases de Padres para Familias Mezcladas
The purpose of this class is to support parents who are planning to introduce a family member to their current family unit. For example, a child that grew up in a different country/place and is reuniting with his/her parent and their parent’s new spouse and children. The goal is to minimize the impact of conflict between family members and gain a deeper family connection.
-Grief and Loss Counseling/ Consejeria en Dolor y Perdida
We recognize the profound impact loss can have on your psychological state, and we are here to help you process your grief in an effective and respectful way. Our compassionate therapists use evidence-based techniques to guide you toward insight and acceptance so you can find lasting inner peace.
-Self Defense Classes for Women/ Clases de defensa personal para mujeres
Our goal is to promote awareness, strength, and self-defense skills for the women in our community, so we offer effective, informative women’s self-defense classes to build the skills and confidence women need to protect themselves physically and to feel emotionally empowered.
-Self Defense Classes for Minors (Anti- BULLYING)/Clases de defensa para ninos
Our goal is to promote awareness, strength, and self-defense skills for the children in our community. The children’s self-defense class is geared to build the skills and confidence children need to protect themselves physically with the hope to minimize the effects of bullying in their life.
-Suicide Prevention Awareness / Consejeria en prevencion de suicidio
Suicidal thoughts, much like mental health conditions, can affect anyone regardless of age, gender or background. In fact, suicide is often the result of an untreated mental health condition. Suicidal thoughts, although common, should not be considered normal and often indicate more serious issues. The purpose of this class is to educate the community and to raise awareness to ensure that individuals, friends and families have access to the resources they need to discuss suicide prevention.
Conflict Resolution Groups
Conflict Resolution Groups Therapists help children with coping skills, self-regulation, behavioral modification, self-esteem, safety, social skills, strengthening verbalization skills, and communication. Please call us for more information, we provide conflict resolution workshops in schools.
